IoT based smart building using Node MCU
Description
Abstract
Power consumption is the major thing in our day to day life. We are sometimes forgot to switch off the lights and fans when we leave the room. It will increase the electricity bills unnecessarily. To avoid this problem , we have developed IoT based smart building concept which uses Passive InfraRed sensor(PIR). This sensor can detect the person by observing Infrared radiations. When the person enters the room , the sensor detects the person and it will automatically turn ON the lights and Fan. When the person leaves the room , it will automatically OFF the lights as well as fan . This sensor value will updated in the cloud by using NodeMcu ESP8266.
Existing system
Manual switching is the only existing system for controlling the lights and fans.
Proposed system
In this project , we are using NodeMcu ESP8266 as a main controller. Passive InfraRed(PIR) sensor used to detect the person . If the person enters the room , the sensor will detect the person and automatically turns on the light and fan. If the person leaves the room , it will automatically turn OFF the lights and fan. For switching purpose we are using relay circuit. The sensor values and status of the lights will updated in the Thingspeak cloud.
