Description

Smart Crop Cultivation Monitoring System by Using IoT

Abstract
Agriculture is most important in our everyday life. The main  food for the human is agricultural products , we are all depends upon the agriculture only. By adapting the new Iot technologies to agricultural environment, we can increase the cultivation. In this smart crop cultivation monitoring system , we are using soil moisture sensor , humidity and temperature sensor, the water flow sensor, solenoid valve and relay to control the solenoid valve. NodeMcu ESP8266 used as a main controller. The sensor’s data’s are collected by the controller and the collected data’s are accessed by the users by the cloud. The end user’s can get the data’s from Thingspeak cloud at any time.

Proposed System
In this project, NodeMcu ESP8266 used as the main controller, soil moisture sensor used to measure the moisture content in the soil. DHT 11 sensor used to measure the temperature and humidity in the soil. The water flow sensor used to evaluate water consumption in the farm. If the moisture content and humidity levels in the farm decreases below the threshold value , the relay activate the solenoid valve to pump the water to the soil. The sensor values are keep updated in the thingspeak Cloud to end user, the user can access the data’s at any time anywhere. It will improves the cultivation of the crops and avoids the huge water consumptions,.
