Safety System for Coal Mines using ESP32

Abstract
                Coal is the most important source of electricity in our country, it also called as Black diamond. So the need of electricity increases the need of coal in our country . As well as , the workers from coal mines facing many problems in their day to day life such as high temperature , toxic gases etc. To solve this problems in coal mines we have developed a project on IoT based Safety sytem. This will keep monitoring the temperature and gas concentration levels. If it will exceeds the particular value it will turn ON the buzzer and send an Email to the mine controlling center using MQTT protocol. Here we are using ESP32 as the main controller to collect the data’s from the sensor’s.

Proposed System

                       In this project, MQ-2 Gas Sensor is used to detect the presence of gases like methane , propane ,LPG and other combustible gases. DHT11 sensor is used to measure the temperature and humidity levels in the atmosphere. If the values of sensor’s exceeds the threshold value ,it will alert the workers by turning ON the buzzer. Then it will send the email to the mine controlling center using MQTT(Message Queuing Telemetry Transport ) protocol. Sensor’s are connected with ESP32 Microcontroller.
