what mean by 8 bit and 4 bit mode in LCD?
Is there any connection modification in design?
I have seen some reference for LCD which says if we want make 4 bit mode in LCD use 4 pin for data signal out of 8 pins and others must connected to GROUND.

All our boards with LCD's are connected in 8-bit Mode. Which means all the 8 data pins are connected with FPGA or Controller.

To work them with 4-bit Mode use only D7-D4 Pin and send 8-bit data as 4-bit higher nibble and 4-bit lower nibble next.
