Description

Abstract

The MQTT android application is connected with wireless communication using the IOT server of MQTT. All devices are connected in the MQTT app. In this project improves the energy efficiency, indoor security, cost savings of the home. The android application controls the home appliances. In such a case, power consumption and network bandwidth become a major concern. We need a low power device that transmits a message through a less verbose protocol. Owing to the ubiquitous availability of WiFi, all the appliances within the home can be connected through a common gateway. This paper presents an overview of a lightweight Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol. In this prototype, we implement MQTT on ESP8266, a WiFi-based development board. all devices are connected to ESP8266 and the MQTT broker is established for remote monitoring and control the home appliances.

Block Diagram Explanation

Where we used NodeMCU as a main controlling unit. And a relay board to control electrical home appliances. The user needs to install the IoT software to his/her smart android phone. After the proper installation of the provided software, the user needs to sign-up on the home automation server. Once the user is registered, a unique user id and a password are provided to the users of each house in which the sensor units are installed. After the user id and the unique password are obtained user can login from our android application. When the user starts the android application first a login page will appear. It was observed that the user can successfully login. As soon as the user login, a home page will appear in which the user could keep a track of all the electronic and electrical devices which are connected with the server.
