Matlab Code for Colour Image Compression

Image compression is a key technology in transmission and storage of digital images because of vast data associated with them. In this project a color image compression scheme based on discrete wavelet transformation (DWT) is proposed. The effectiveness of the algorithm has been justified over some real images, and the performance of the algorithm has been compared in terms of PSNR,MSE and Compression ratio. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed technique provides sufficient high compression ratios compared to other compression techniques.
