Image Segmentation using Snake Algorithm

               In this project is part of image processing used for segregation of regions.Using the snake algorithm,specify the initial curves on an image.It is required to segment the medical images. segments the image into foreground (object) and background regions using active contours.Segmentation is the process of separation of required information from a data for further processing. Image segmentation can be defined as the segregation of pixels of interest for effective processing. GVF snake model is used widely in image segmentation. But there are problems in convergence processing to boundaries of some medical image because of noise. This project presents a new segmentation algorithm to medical image. First, rough edge is got by Canny operator, and then thinning method based on mathematical morphology is adopted to get edge map as foundation of GVF snake model.
