Abstract

This project uses an image processing algorithm to recognize the gesture using OpenCV. In this project, the USB camera is interfaced with Jetson Nano. By using this project you can implement nearly 15 hand gestures by projecting the same gestures with different angles. In-display it will project the gesture message based on the gesture.

Existing system

In the existing system, gesture-based applications are developed in Matlab and in Raspberry pi. This same code can also be run in another python compatible hardware.

Proposed system

In this proposed system, the advanced board Nvidia Jetson Nano is used for better video processing.

Connection description

Nvidia Nano has USB as well as CSI camera interface, here USB camera is used. To have better resolution CSI interface able camera can also be used or else Mobile phone can be used by using IP webcam mobile application

Project description

In this project, a simple OpenCV program is developed for video processing by creating masking, contour detection and plotting the nodes in between the fingers to take the finger count. The window is created to identify the tilt angle of the gestures so that we can assign 3 commands for each gesture with 3 different angles.
