What is nous

NOUS, a solution that enables an entirely ‘physical-free’ access method for communication and other computer applications. Recent advances in technology make it possible to interact with a computer through thought alone with a Brain-Computer Interface (BCI). A BCI can be used to replace physical inputs such as touchscreens, keyboards and switches. NOUS uses the natural power of thought, via BCI, to navigate, control and access applications. This offers users with physical impairments greater opportunities for communication, education and social participation.

NOUS can be used by anybody who is able to perform basic mental tasks: imagining moving their limbs, or remembering a specific image or a sound. It is most applicable for individuals with severe physical impairments, for whom available assistive solutions are impossible to use because of high physical demands and those who’d like to replace their current cumbersome access method.
